    Active Ingredient:

    Adapalene

    Description

Deriva® MS Gel is manufactured by Glenmark. It is used to treat mild to moderate acne on the face, chest, and back. The active substance of Deriva® MS Gel is Adapalene, a third-generation retinoid and derivative of vitamin A. Adapalene is considered as a first-line therapy for comedonal and inflammatory acne.

Acne (also known as acne vulgaris) is a common skin disorder caused by an overgrowth of P. acnes (Propionibacterium acnes) bacteria, that live and grow in the clogged pores. Pores can get clogged when containing too much skin sebum and excess dead epithelial cells. The symptoms of acne are pimples, whiteheads, non-inflamed comedones, blackheads, and possible scarring of the lesions.

    MOA (mechanism of action):

Adapalene acts as comedolytic and anti-inflammatory agent. It penetrates the clogged pores, where modulates cells differentiation and keratinization, thereby decreasing the amount of dead skin cells residue and inhibiting the formation of comedogenic content. With the lack of pore-clogging content in pores, P. acnes no longer have a positive environment to proliferate in.

    Dosage

Deriva® MS Gel is for external use only. Do not apply to your eyes, mouth, inside of the nose, private parts, and any other mucosal surface.

Deriva® MS Gel is normally applied 1 time daily at bedtime, usually for 3 months. In case your acne has not improved after 2-3 weeks of treatment, discontinue the Deriva® MS Gel use and seek medical advice.

How to use Deriva® MS Gel:

    1. Wash your hands and the affected areas with mild soap or cleanser, pat dry.

    2. Apply a thin layer of the gel to the affected areas with your finger tips.

    3. Gently rub until the gel is mostly absorbed.

    4. Wash your hands after the gel application.
