    Description

    Budez® CR is a medication of the corticosteroid type manufactured by Sun Pharma. It contains the active ingredient Budesonide, a glucocorticosteroid that has potent anti-inflammatory activity and is used to treat mild to moderate Crohn's disease (inflammatory disease of the bowel) affecting the end of the small intestine (ileum) and the start of the large intestine (ascending colon). Budez® CR helps maintain the remission Crohn's disease and also assists in its the induction in people with active ulcerative or microscopic colitis. Budesonide capsules are designed to release their contents gradually in the last part of the small bowel (the ileum) and the first part of the large bowel. Besides mild to moderate Crohn's disease, Budez® CR is used for the management of asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), reducing such symptoms like wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, and tightness in the chest, allowing the air to go into and out of the lungs, thus making it easier to breath. Budez® CR capsules should not be used in an acute episode of asthma where intensive measures are needed.

    Indications:

    - asthma;

    - COPD;

    - mild to moderate active Crohn's disease;

    - ulcerative colitis;

    - microscopic colitis.

    MOA (mechanism of action):

    Budez® CR improves the patient’s condition by reducing swelling and inflammation in the throat, lungs or intestine. It works by shrinking swollen and inflamed tissues blocking the action of certain cells and chemicals of the immune system. Budesonide controls the rate of protein synthesis, depresses the migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes, fibroblasts, reverses capillary permeability and lysosomal stabilization at the cellular level to prevent or control inflammation.

    The use and dosage for the asthma management and COPD should be prescribed for every patient individually.

    The dosage and length of treatment are based on your medical condition and response to treatment and should be prescribed for every patient individually.
